1. What is BOOM's WAP Service? Does it support Chinese?
BOOM's WAP service is a WAP Site (wap.boom.com) that allows BOOM Trading members to monitor their portfolio and trade anywhere through their WAP enabled mobile phones. It includes Stock Trading and Stock Information Features in both English and Chinese. Please go to

2. Can I access to BOOM's WAP Service if I am not a BOOM member?
Yes. Anyone can access our WAP site on http://wap.boom.com/. However, only BOOM's Trading members can view their stock watch lists and can access to stock trading and portfolio features.
3. How do I setup my WAP enabled mobile phone to wireless connection?
Your mobile operator will configure your WAP enabled mobile phone to wireless connection once you have subscribed WAP service.
4. What kind of WAP phone do I need? What kind of WAP phone is secure?
Any WAP phone or WAP-enabled device, which supports WAP v1.1, should be able to connect to our WAP site. However, to optimize the security level, it is recommended that you use security-enabled WAP phones and configure your WAP phones to secure connection before trading. For encryption technology protected WAP phones, please refer to the
WAP Phone Suggestion List.
5. How can I gain access to BOOM's WAP Service?
- You must have a WAP enabled mobile phone
- Open "data service"* with your mobile operator
- Connect your WAP enabled phone to http://wap.boom.com
* Data packet transmission over a wireless network
6. How much does it cost to use BOOM's WAP Service and Trading facilities?
It is FREE! BOOM does not charge for WAP content*. The commission & charges imposed on WAP trading are the same as you pay for when you trade via Internet. However, you might need to subscribe to wireless Internet service for your WAP enabled mobile phones. For further information, please contact your mobile operator.
* You must be our Advanced Information Service (AIS) Subscriber to have access to real-time quotes through BOOM's WAP Service.
7. Can I trade with WAP? What securities can I trade through BOOM's WAP Services?
Yes. All stock trading functions, such as buy, sell, change and cancel orders, can be found under
"Trading Express". You can trade via WAP all listed securities that available on BOOM web site.
8. How can I gain access to BOOM's WAP Trading facilities and
stock tracker feature?
A BOOM Trading member can access trading and/or your personalized stock watch lists. However, you need to be assigned a WAP password and WAP Trading Key Code on our BOOM ANYWHERE
WAP application page. If you are not a member yet, please click here to open a

9. Can I check my portfolio and/or account balance with WAP?
Yes. Your portfolio information can be found at "My
Portfolio" or "Trading Express">>"My
Portfolio", and your account balance can be checked at "Trading
Express">>"My Account".
10. Does BOOM's WAP Service have real-time stock quotes and/or streaming stock quotes? How much?
Yes. Real-time quotes are available on BOOM's WAP Service. However, the current WAP standard does not support streaming application so we do not offer streaming quotes. All of our members who have subscribed to BOOM's real-time stock quote services, Advanced Information Service
(AIS), would have access (not simultaneously) to real-time quotes on both BOOM web site and WAP site. We do NOT charge extra for accessing real-time quotes via
WAP.
11. Does BOOM's WAP Service have price alerts and order execution alerts?
No. We are working on that.
12. How do I know if my order is transmitted successfully?
You will receive a reference number once the order is successfully placed. If you do not receive a confirmation number, please use your WAP phone to check your order status and/or portfolio status. If you order does not reflect on order status and/or portfolio status, contact BOOM at (852) 2255 8888. To avoid placing duplicate trade, do not attempt to place the order again.
13. How do I change the WAP password and/or WAP Trading Key Code?
You can change your WAP password and/or WAP Trading Key Code on the BOOM ANYWHERE application page. Just go through the same process as you first assign WAP password and WAP Trading Key Code and they would be changed accordingly.
14. Will my trades be affected if there are other incoming calls or signals?
No. If you have already activated call divert function, your incoming calls will be diverted to your voice mailbox; even if the call divert function has not been activated, the caller will receive an engaged tone. If the interrupt is an SMS alert, you can either continue with your transaction or choose to read the SMS message. However, you are advised to ignore the SMS alert and complete the transaction first, since it may be confusing for switching from one screen to another screen.
15. If I lose my WAP phone, is there any security issue?
No. No one can view your portfolio and make trade with your WAP phone without your WAP password and/or WAP Trading Key Code.
16. How do I setup my WAP enabled mobile phone to secure connection?
Different WAP phone or WAP-enabled devices have different setup for security connection. For details, please
contact your mobile operator for further information.
17. Which locations in Hong Kong are optimal for WAP usage?
Generally, signal reception is best in locations not blocked by large buildings where wireless communication signals are strong. Please contact your mobile operator for detailed coverage information.
18. Can I access your WAP site outside Hong Kong?
Yes. Our WAP site is available wherever wireless communication signals are available. That is why you can trade with BOOM ANYWHERE. However, in most circumstance your local mobile operator will charge roaming services when you access WAP service outside your local country.
