What is 128-bit encryption and why should I use it?

All communication within BOOM is protected via encryption technology. We use 128-bit encryption, the safest level commercially available by consumer groups, to encode all communications. Encryption enables member that have securely logged on to BOOM facilities using their Member ID and Login Password to continuously send encoded information back and forth across the Internet. Therefore, all information sent to this site is encrypted and protected against disclosure to third parties.

How do I know if my browser supports 128-bits encryption?

To check if the site you visit is protected, move your cursor to the LOCK sign on the bottom bar of the browser and you will be able to get the message "SSL Secured (128 bits)".

How do I know that my BOOM account is secure on the Internet?

When you logon into your account via Internet browser, the encrypted (secure) areas can be easily identified by two characteristics:

• URL: Pages using encryption will have URLs that begin with "https" instead of "http:".
• Key Icon: The key icon on the lower left corner of the browser will appear in whole rather than broken in half.
